Nature Journal Workshop

Book onto this workshop with local artist Jennifer Moore, for a fun and family-friendly, all-levels afternoon to create your very own notebook to remember the things you’ve seen around you in your garden or when out on walks, bike rides, or visiting the beach or park.

Recording what you see is a fantastic way to appreciate your surroundings and keep boredom at bay. I developed the birdwatching logbooks to encourage an awareness of our beautiful birds, and this workshop will add another layer of enrichment and help you create something to treasure in the future.

No amazing art skills or fancy equipment necessary, as we’ll look how to put together a great memento of time spent in nature with some simple drawing techniques, stamps, lettering and collage. This is a great activity to help reconnect and observe, something we ALL need with our hectic lifestyles and screen-based distraction.

All materials are provided and you get an A5 sketchbook (made from recycled coffee cups) to work in and then take away with you. We will look at compositions, colour schemes, themes and decoration as well as make a start with some drawings from finds in the wood.

The workshop is 2 hours and involves scissors and other pointy things, so suggested age is 8+ but by all means get in touch to discuss ability/attention spans for younger children who would like to attend!

Prices are £20 per family, £15 for Wilderness Wood members. Please bring cash on the day.

Booking essential: please email jennifermooreartist@gmail.com to reserve your space.
