December and January opening hours

We close The Hatch on December 21st at 2pm until February 1st at 10am. Members & Hadlow Down villagers are welcome to walk in this period unless forestry work is going on (which will be signed on the main gate) - please bring a cash donation to cover admission for any guests.

From February to November

We are open Tuesday to Sunday from 10am to 4pm and Bank Holiday Mondays.

We do occasionally change our opening hours or close for specific events and holidays, so please do check the website and our social media before you set off.

The Hatch is open serving refreshments, answering queries and taking payment for admission and woodland products from 10am to 4pm.

Admission for non-members for walks and picnics in the wood is £4 per person or £15 for a household, payable at The Hatch (card or cash) - these funds help us look after the wood and keep it open to the public. Members do not pay for admission to the wood. But if you bring guests, we ask you to make an additional donation.

Friendly dogs are welcome and can be off of the lead when outside the main ‘hub’. We do not have a poo bin.

We ask all visitors to look after the wood and each other by following our Code of Conduct.
