Wilderness Wood is famous for its Christmas Trees and festive atmosphere. Families have been coming for decades to choose a tree either from our beautiful field or pre-cut local trees from our courtyard.
Thank you to everyone who joined us in 2024 - we have some trees left, and the shop is now reduced down to The Hatch. The Hatch is open until 1pm on Saturday 21st December.
Choose a TREE IN THE COURTYARD every day until 21st December. Christmas Tree Price List 2024
The weekend of 14th and 15th December, we will have wood fired pizzas, a drop in activity for the kids and will open our Christmas shop in the Barn showcasing gifts and decorations made by local people and small businesses.
We are open from 9am to 4pm every day until 21st December (closing at 3pm on 21st).
No need to book.
If you are coming to buy a Christmas Tree, you do not need to pay admission, if you are buying a tree, please pay admission at The Hatch on arrival - £4 per person, or £15 per family arriving in one car.
For a more peaceful experience, come during the week. You can take your time to look at all the Christmas Trees and still enjoy a hot chocolate, mince pie and gifts by local artists and crafts people in our Barn.

If you don't plan to buy a tree, please pay admission at The Hatch on arrival. If possible, please consider parking off site and walking in.

You do not need a ticket to visit us during the week - we are open every day from 24th November to 21st December. You are welcome to visit between 10am and 4pm during the week to choose a tree in relative peace, enjoy a hot drink and browse gifts by local artists and makers

Not on our busy ticketed weekends, but you are welcome during the week! Most of the year, our beautiful woodland is open to the public Tuesday to Sunday for walks and we encourage people to spend the day. We limit access while we concentrate on Christmas.
-
This is the 'Early Bird' slot for people who want to pop in then out again with a tree. Not all of the attractions will be up and running at this point, although you will be able to grab a coffee and choose your tree in the relative quiet before the busier slots later in the day.
-
Yes, but you need to come and reserve it in advance on the 11th or 12th November (see our website for details).
If you have not reserved, we anticipate that there will still be some 'wonky' (although still lovely) trees available in the field, but we cannot guarantee this.
When coming to collect your tree (from 21st November), please bring a saw - this is a diy activity! You do not need to book a parking slot if you have already reserved a tree - just let us know on the gate.
-
Yes we do! You can pay card for trees, pizzas and drinks - some of our decorations and gifts are made by our members (of all ages) so if you can bring cash to pay them directly, that would be great, but is not essential.
-
Depending on your needs - please do call us if you have a specific question! Please bear in mind: the courtyard is uneven in places, but is hard-standing and wheelchairs are usually ok.
We have a ramp available to the toilets.
The cut-your-own field does not have disabled access.
There is a step up into the Cookhouse, but you can still order pizza and get a drink.
-
Well behaved dogs are welcome on a lead, but please be diligent about clearing up after them! The trail is closed on our busy fayre weekends, so if you would like to take your dog for a walk in the wood, please come during the week or outside of the ticketed weekends.
-
You are welcome to come and collect your tree any time from 21st November. Remember to bring your own saw and please come during daylight hours (from 10am)!
