Dumbledore & Yaffle cabins

These beautiful new cabins are a few minute’s walk from the main hub - nestled amidst the beech, holly and cedar, with views out over our famous Christmas-tree field and to the South Downs beyond.

Both cabins sleep two adults and two kids in the loft space above the kitchen/sitting room (not acoustically separate!). Each cabin has its own kitchen, bathroom and outdoor BBQ area.

The design of these beautiful cabins is based on a Spanish grainstore made from chestnut wood, called an Horreo and adapted by architect-owner of the wood, Dan Morrish. They have been a labour of love - built with timber from the wood and crafted by a team of talented designer-builders.

All guests are asked to contribute to the ongoing care of the woodland during their stay, either in your own way (there is a list of simple suggestions in the cabin) or by joining one of the timetabled working parties or courses.

You can stay Friday to Sunday (£500) or Tuesday to Friday (£500) or a full week (£1,000). Check in 2pm and Check out 10am. Members may book directly with us by emailing: emilyanddan@wildernesswood.org or you can visit Canopy and Stars to view availability on-line and check prices.

Please note - weekends and school holidays are fully booked until October 2023.

We are also open to applications for longer stays from people who would like to take a sabbatacle and get more fully involved with the life of the wood.

Both cabins are a short distance from the car-park. Go through the arch behind the Barn and begin the alphabet trail and then there are signs on your left for Dumbledore and Yaffle. We can provide a wheelbarrow for luggage. Dumbledore is wheelchair accessible.

Please take off your shoes!

Children are welcome but there are steep steps and a wood-burning stove so toddlers and young children need careful supervision.
